WHAT IS ASHFIELD PLAYCARE SCHEME?

It is a registered charity , a non- profit making organisation that provides good quality play and care. 
The Scheme operates during every school holiday and takes up to 50 children from the ages 4-11 years. The After School Scheme collects from local schools during term time.

WHO RUNS THE SCHEME?

Administered by an unpaid voluntary committee who meet throughout the year together with sub committee. The Scheme is regulated by Ofsted who awarded us 'Outstanding' in our recent inspection.

IS THE BUILDING USED SUITABLE?

The premises must be approved by Ofsted, Environmental Health and Fire Officers before it can be registered under the Childrens Act 1989. Inspection visits are carried out by all of the above to ensure that the Scheme is in good order.

WHAT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DOES THE SCHEME GET?

We receive contributions from parents, Gift Aid and grants from Notts County Council. The remainder of the funding comes from fund raising activities and donations from outside sources.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SEND MY CHILD TO THE PLAY SCHEME?

After School Club is £10.00 per session or £50.00 per week for each child. 
Holiday Scheme is £29.00 per day or £145.00 per week for each child.

HOW DO I BOOK MY CHILD IN TO SCHEME?

Booking forms for the Afterschool Club are avaliable from the Play Scheme or by emailing manager@ashfieldplaycarescheme.co.uk

Booking forms for the Holiday Scheme are send out 3-4 weeks prior to each holiday scheme.

HOW CAN I BE SURE THAT MY CHILD WILL BE PROPERLY LOOKED AFTER?

The staff are well qualified , enthusiastic and meet the requirements of Notts County Council Social Services. No one can be employed until references are obtained and approval from the Criminal Record Bureau. We are regulated by Ofsted. The Play Scheme is risk assessed and carries full insurance cover.

WHAT DO THE CHILDREN DO WHILE AT THE SCHEME?

Enjoy themselves! In a relaxed atmosphere activities including arts and crafts , educational projects, indoor and outdoor games (in safe play areas with industrial play equipment). Other activities include PS2 , Computers , Pool and a quiet area for homework and reading. 

The Scheme Management and Staff try and make sure that there is always something to suit every child. The children's ideas will be taken in to consideration when planning. Some activities may be messy please do not send children in best clothes.

WHAT ABOUT MEALS AND REFRESHMENTS?

A packed lunch and drink is required in holiday schemes. Snacks are served in After School sessions.

HOW CAN I HELP THE SCHEME?

By letting other parents know about the scheme. By donating toys or books no longer needed. By exploring the possibility of funding from other organisations , perhaps your employer would be willing to donate cash or other items (donations to a registered charity are tax allowable). By promoting the Scheme in any way you can. By volunteering help at fundraising events.

HOW DO I JOIN THE COMMITTEE?

The present committee is small in numbers, if you would like to join and help by exchanging ideas, please contact the Chair Susan Ambler (chairperson@ashfieldplaycarescheme.co.uk) for further information. Committee Meetings are held in the evening , usually every six weeks or so. Why nor come along and join us?

CAN I CONTACT THE MANAGER IN AN EMERGENCY?

Yes! The Scheme's phone number is 01623 550986 and may be reached during opening hours. There is an answering machine and messages are checked and cleared before the children are collected from school. There is also a mobile number 07526422358.
