ASHFIELD PLAYCARE SCHEME

Providing Quality After School and Holiday Care for Children Ages 4- 11 Years

Home: Welcome

OUR STORY

How did the scheme start?
In 1990 the scheme operated during the summer holidays and later started a successful afterschool club. Officers and committee were successful in obtaining funding from various sources, which enabled the scheme to buy its own building. The original outdoor play areas have now been extended.

The New Building

Sadly, in December 2012 there was a fire at the Playscheme in which the entire building was destroyed. Thankfully, no one was present during this time. Thanks to the support and donations we received we were able to rebuild with a bigger and better purpose built building where we are located today.

Who runs the scheme?
The day to day Management of the Scheme  is run by a team qualified staff.
Our staff are DBS and Ofsted checked and hold relevant childcare qualifications and further this with additional training courses such as paediatric first aid, health and safety etc.
The scheme is administered by an un-paid elected  committee who meet throughout the year and encourage other parents of children within the scheme to volunteer themselves to our committee  and sub-committees.
Together we ensure the Scheme maintains its high standards and complies with the requirements set out by  Ofsted and other governing bodies.

Funding
We receive contributions from parents, Gift Aid and the remainder of the of the funding comes from fund raising activities and donations from various sources.
